Short answer
The town is divided into districts that you reclaim and develop. Official details say you choose buildings, shape markets and resources, and benefit from rising prosperity—including a larger supply of corpses for the graveyard economy.Do this first
- Treat each district as an economic choice, not only a cosmetic restoration project.
- Compare what a building produces with what your graveyard, workshops, and defenses consume.
- Avoid a fixed build order until unlock requirements and district bonuses are verified in the release build.
Districts are the new expansion map
The official town devlog frames restoration as a sequence of reclaiming districts. Players decide which buildings appear and influence the products, markets, and resources available in the settlement.
Prosperity feeds the graveyard
The deliberately grim economic link is explicit: a more prosperous town can mean more corpses. That suggests town upgrades will affect the input side of graveyard progression, not sit in a separate city-builder mode.
The decisions we still need to test
We do not yet know whether building choices are reversible, how many districts exist, which resource bottlenecks dominate, or whether one market configuration outperforms another. Those are launch-build questions, not pre-release facts.
